People sometimes think Pulp fiction started in 1923 but it actually dates back to the 1880s. Here's a fine example, Wardon Allan Curtis's "The Monster of Lake La Metrie" in which a scientist puts his dying friend's brain into a dinosaur they discover at the lake. What could be more Pulp than intelligent dinosaurs?
